At Algoma University in the Sault, the Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre has finished digitizing a series of archival records that tell the story of two former residential schools in the area. The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is leading the investigation into an early morning explosion and fire in Sault Ste. Marie that left a building on McNabb Street severely damaged. Officials say the explosion occurred on the main floor of the building that houses businesses and apartment units. CTV's Nicole Di Donato was at the scene.

Students and faculty continue voicing their concerns about the Ford government's decision to cut university funding. This doesn't just affect people in Ontario. Canadians fear that this could happen in their provinces as well. Nicole Di Donato has the story (aired on RyersonianTV: This Week on February 28, 2019).

Ryerson University is looking to enrol more international students in the upcoming academic year. This comes after the Ford government's university funding cuts. It’s award season! The Grammys were this past weekend and the Oscars are coming up fast. Here’s what people are saying about it on Twitter. Nicole Di Donato and Jasmine Bala have all the details (aired on RyersonianTV: This Week on February 14, 2019).

The group, which is made up of students from all programs, has been rehearsing for its production of Disney's Newsies since the summer. Music Makers

Music Makers is a web series hosted by Toronto-based music journalist Nicole Di Donato. She has always loved music, but she never actually learned how to play it. This series is about Nicole's quest to learn how to play various instruments from up-and-coming Canadian artists and bands.

 

In the first episode, Nicole gets to jam out with Toronto indie rock band Monowhales, which is comprised of Sally Shaar, Zach Zanardo, Jordan Circosta, and Holly Jamieson (published on December 10, 2018).

Ryerson School of Journalism

Rene St. Gelais is a hockey mom. With her three kids in hockey, she spends most of her nights and weekends at the rink. But, this isn't unusual in the town of Stouffville, Ontario. Hockey is a lifestyle for most families in this town.

Nicole created this documentary alongside four of her classmates as part of the TV documentary course at Ryerson University. Nicole reported, wrote the script, conducted the interviews and helped shoot and edit the video (premiered on November 27, 2018).
