About

Nicole Di Donato is a multimedia journalist and anchor at CTV Calgary. Growing up, Nicole never shied away from the camera or from an opportunity to ask questions. It's that curiosity that led her to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. Nicole's favourite part of the job is connecting with people in the community, telling their stories and learning new things.

Throughout her time in Calgary, Nicole has extensively covered crime, ranging from fatal shootings and assaults to transit safety concerns. She has a passion for breaking news and understands the importance of providing context, especially when there are few details available. One example is Nicole's multi-day coverage of a deadly grizzly bear attack in Banff National Park.

Nicole also played a key role in CTV Calgary's 2023 provincial election special. She reported from the United Conservative Party headquarters, conducting live interviews with candidates, political analysts and party supporters.

When she isn't reporting, Nicole can often be found on the anchor desk. She regularly fills in on the noon, five, late and weekends.

Before landing in Alberta, Nicole worked as the weekend anchor and a video journalist at CTV Saskatoon. Prior to that, she was a video journalist at the CTV Northern Ontario bureau in Sault Ste. Marie.

Nicole has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly known as Ryerson University. She also completed an eight-week intensive filmmaking workshop at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, California. She directed, wrote, cast and shot her own original films.

On her days off, Nicole enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling and drinking lots of cappuccinos.
